Benefits of Green peas.

 


Sweet and delicious green peas are one of the ancient vegetables. Peas are probably native to the Himalayan plains and northwestern India. It grows quickly in well-watered, permeable soil. The pods measure around 6cm and are filled with 2-10 small green seeds.

Raw peas contain 78.9% water and the following nutrients: Carbohydrates, proteins, a complex of B vitamins, vitamins C, E, provitamin A, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, folic acid, and fiber. Fresh pods are an excellent source of folic acid. 100 g of peas provide 65 nebog or 16% DDD folate. Folates belong to the group of B vitamins, necessary for the synthesis of DNA inside cells.

Peas also contain a lot of ascorbic acids (vitamin C). 100 g of fresh pods have 40 mg or 67% DDD of vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful, water-soluble antioxidant. Vegetables rich in this vitamin help the human body fight infectious diseases and remove dangerous free radicals from the body.

Peas contain phytosterols, especially ß-sitosterol, which helps lower blood cholesterol. Peas are also a rich source of vitamin K. 100 g of fresh pods contain about 24.8 nebulin or 21% DDD of vitamin K-1

Peas contain all the necessary nutrients that a diet designed for the heart should have, making it a suitable dietary supplement for anyone with a weak heart.

Because it is rich in B vitamins and minerals needed for the proper functioning of the nervous system, it is very suitable for weakened the nervous system, irritability, depression, and insomnia.

Because starch is converted to glucose in peas during digestion, it is well tolerated by diabetics. Peas are excellent not only raw but also cooked in the form of porridge or soup. There are no limits to imagination.
